KMC Opens the Benjamin and Marian Schuster Heart Hospital

Congratulations to the Kettering Medical Center and the entire design and construction team on the grand opening of the new Benjamin and Marian Schuster Heart Hospital.

The $77 million, 145,000 SF, six-story facility opened in October of 2010.  The hospital has five-stories of patient care along with the lobby, pharmacy, gift shop and bakery.  The hospital features state-of-the-art diagnostic and interventional equipment, including three new cath labs.

The hospital will serve as a premier cardiac care facility as well as a research and education facility.

The Benjamin and Marian Schuster Heart Hospital is a part of the Kettering Health Network, which is comprised of 32 facilities in and around the Dayton area.

The facility's project team included:

Architect: LWC, Inc.

Mechanical-Electrical Engineer: Heapy Engineering

Structural Engineer: Shell + Meyer Associates, Inc.

Civil Engineer: Norflett, Brown & Petkewicz, Inc.

Interior Design: Jain Malkin, Inc.

Contractor: Danis Building Construction

The project received an ABC 2010 Excellence in Construction Award of Merit
