Wright State University and Heapy Engineering are co-hosting the 7th Annual Symposium on Sustainability in Health Care (SSHC-17).  The SSHC is an educational event for Healthcare providers and industry partners. New this year, ACHE (American College of Healthcare Executives) and TSHE (TriState Society of Healthcare Engineers) have joined the Symposium as Education Partners.

The Keynote Speaker discussion will focus on the link of Wellness and Sustainable Design.

Dr. LaRusso's talk will focus on the link of Wellness and Sustainable Design.  He will help us explore how integrating Healthcare's evidence-based design concepts with sustainability-based design and construction strategies will positively affect human health, well-being and comfort.  He will explain how and why Healthcare leaders and leaders of the organizations and businesses serving healthcare can and should promote such integration.  He will also discuss the results observed when they do.

Joe joined Heapy Engineering in 1990 as a HVAC Design Engineer and subsequently became a Project Manager and in 2001 was named a Principal in the firm.  He serves as the firm’s Healthcare Practice Leader. In this role he provides guidance to the firm’s engineering staff on matters regarding the latest innovations in healthcare design and the development of design tools, codes and overall industry insight.
