Columbus_Convention_Center_Battelle_1Heapy Engineering is providing the Mechanical-Electrical design for renovating and redesigning a total of 90,000 SF of Battelle Hall. 

The facility will be able to support a ballroom, meeting and exhibit room space, as well as being a venue for gymnastics, cheerleading and other sporting events through the use of moveable risers. 

Columbus_Convention_Center_Battelle_2When the renovation is complete, Battelle Grand will be the biggest ballroom in the state of Ohio including an approximately 50,000 SF ballroom and an approximately 24,000 SF mezzanine level. The addition of a large window on the south end of the hall will offer an expansive view of downtown Columbus.The new Battelle Grand will feature a high-tech ceiling system to provide customized lighting options, a new kitchen and movable wall systems that will allow the space to be divided into five areas. 

Columbus_Convention_Center_Battelle_3The renovation will update several areas outside the ballroom as well. A new entrance to Battelle Grand will help to blend it into the other meeting and event space within the Convention Center. 

The estimated Mechanical-Electrical construction cost is $4,702,500 with a total project cost of $30,000,000.
