Columbus Convention Center

Columbus_Convention_Center_Battelle_1Heapy Engineering provided the Mechanical-Electrical design for renovating and redesigning Battelle Grand.

Battelle Grand offers 74,000 SF of premium, flexible space divisible into five configurations, with upscale wall treatments and carpeting, floor-to-ceiling windows and the signature LED lighting fins in the ceiling capable of 65,000 color combinations.

Columbus_Convention_Center_Battelle_2There is 50,000 SF of space on the main floor and an additional 24,000 SF on the mezzanine. Elevators and escalators provide direct access to the mezzanine level. A widened connecting walkway from the north building of the facility creates a grand arrival for guests entering Battelle Grand. Pre-function space allows guests with the opportunity to mingle before entering the ballroom.

Columbus_Convention_Center_Battelle_3The abundant size of Battelle Grand is further enhanced by blackout curtains and sunshades, floor-pocket power and data sources to support trade shows, built-in concession areas and a variety of seating options.

Accompanying Battelle Grand is an additional 10,000 SF of first-floor meeting room space, including the stellar 36 on the Boulevard, a deluxe window-lined room perfect for special receptions. The Center Lounge now offers a spacious public seating area enhanced by flat-screen televisions. There are also new elevators, escalators, carpeting and furnishings throughout the facility.

The project was completed in 2010 with a total project cost of $40,000,000.
