Fairfield Medical Center
Heapy Engineering designed the Mechanical-Electrical systems for a major renovation and addition to Fairfield Medical Center. The project was completed in 5 Phases.
Phase 1: The project includes the Emergency Department expansion of 5,200 SF and renovation of 2,300 SF, Radiation and Oncology expansion of 4,100 SF and 2,000 SF of renovation, Physical Therapy relocation to 11,000
SF of renovated space, Chiller/Cooling Tower expansion including the addition of 2 water cooled chillers with dedicated cooling towers and Parking Lot expansion.
Phase 2: Renovation of the Cath Lab area, design of a new Open Heart OR and the shelf addition of 26,000 SF.
Phase 3: Relocation of Administration to Shelf area, relocation of Pharmacy/Case Management, renovation of Administration area to Patient Unit and Endoscopy, Emergency, Cardio and Speech.
Phase 4: Parking Garage Addition, North Addition, 20,000 SF addition to the cafeteria, 63,000 SF addition for material management, cardio pulmonary, endoscopy, emergency expansion and shell space for future use.
Phase 5: Cath Lab expansion, renovation of 9,800 SF for two new cath labs and associated space.The project also includes a 197,130 SF parking garage.The garage is 3 levels above grade with 542 parking spaces.
The project was completed in 2006 with a total construction cost of $50,000,000.
