Heapy Engineering is designing the Mechanical-
Electrical systems for the new 259,000 SF, 90-bed hospital. It will be the seventh hospital under the Kettering Health Network umbrella and will be part of the Mills-Morgan Medical campus, which will encompass the whole 35 acres at the intersection of Pentagon Boulevard and Royal Gateway Road near the Fairfield Commons Mall.
This facility will incorporate energy efficiency into every aspect of its design. The heating system operates a high efficiency heating system utilizing condensing boilers achieving up to 95% efficiency. The facility also employs a heat recover chiller system designed to provide pre-heat for the domestic hot water system and supplemental heat to the heating hot water system. Further, the air-handling systems serving the ORs utilize an unoccupied setback allowing the facility to achieve additional energy savings.
The hospital will feature emergency care, general surgery, orthopedic care, cardiac care, a birthing center, critical care and medical imaging and diagnostic services. The hospital also will house a two-story wall of water, a serenity pool and stained glass in the main lobby.
The project is scheduled for completion in 2012.
