Adams County Hospital
Heapy designed the Mechanical-Electrical systems for the new Adams County Hospital. This new 100,000 SF facility includes an Imaging Department consisting of a CT Room, X-Ray, Radiology, Fluoroscopy, Nuclear Medicine, Ultra Sound, Mammography and a Mobile MRI. All of the imaging equipment for the Hospital was new except for CT and Nuclear Medicine, which was relocated from their existing facility.
For the new equipment, Heapy was responsible for closely coordinating with the hospital vendor to ensure that all equipment mechanical-electrical services required for the proper operation and installation were incorporated into the construction documents. This includes, but was not limited to, space environmental conditioning, electrical service including provisions for shunt trip, lighting and control, empty raceway and pull boxes for vendor cabling, network drops, warning lights and coordination with ceiling devices with equipment support structure.
In addition to the vendor coordination items listed above, Heapy performed a detailed site visit to survey and document the existing CT and Nuclear Medicine equipment for all owner required mechanical-electrical site adaptability issues for a seamless relocation by the equipment vendor.
The project was completed in 2006 with a Mechanical-Electrical cost of $7,913,000 and a total project cost of $20,964,000.
