Bowling Green State University New Student Housing

Heapy Engineering is providing Mechanical-Electrical design services for phase one of the proposed housing plan at Bowling Green State University.  Phase one includes the construction of two, new dormitories, South Central Residence Hall and Northwest Residence Hall. 

South Central Residence Hall’s focus will be for incoming freshmen students and will have a capacity of 596 residents.  The building will include: fully furnished units, in room climate control, air conditioning, high speed wireless / wired internet, bathrooms shared by no more than 4 people, lounges connecting residential corridors, and electronic exterior access system.  The first floor amenity areas will include flexible programming space, high tech study and workgroup spaces, and laundry rooms. 

The second building, Northwest Residence Hall, is being designed for sophomores and will have a capacity of 524 residents.  The building will include: fully furnished units, in room climate control, air conditioning, high speed wired / wireless internet, lounges connecting residential corridors, and electronic exterior assess system.  The first floor amenity areas will include flexible programming space, high tech study and workgroup spaces, and laundry rooms.  Both buildings will be energy efficient.

Completion of the dorms is planned for the fall of 2011.
