Miami University Psychology Building
Heapy Engineering designed the Mechanical-Electrical systems for a new, 110,000 SF multi-story building for the Department of Psychology and the Laboratory Animal Resources Department (which serves Psychology as well as several biological science departments).
The psychology areas will include the Psychology Clinic, departmental offices, classrooms, faculty/staff offices, research and teaching labs. The Psychology Clinic is
an operating mental health care clinic used by the student population. The psychology labs are dry type labs with two way mirrors, observation rooms, and electronic component storage rooms and computer labs. The animal care facilities will include holding/procedure rooms, wet type labs and support spaces.
This project was completed in 2006 with a total construction cost of $34,000,000.
This project was awarded an AIA Columbus 2008 Merit Award.
