Wright State University Student Union Renovation
Heapy Engineering designed the Mechanical-Electrical systems for a phased renovation to create a Health-Wellness & Recreation Center in the basement of the Student Union to serve a growing number of health conscious students, faculty and staff.
The project includes: new fitness center with multi-purpose rooms; locker rooms; building and swimming pool
upgrades; Union Office renovations; new Student Organization offices; court upgrades; new offices for Student Life, Student Health Services and Psychological Services with a Project Budget of $9.3 million
In addition, Heapy designed the Mechanical-Electrical systems for the 1994 100,000 SF renovation and 50,000 SF addition to existing University Center / Physical Education Building.
Located in the Student Union are the bookstore, fitness center, pool, racquetball courts, arcade, billiards room, food court, gallery, student organization offices, lounges, and meeting rooms. It also houses the offices for Bursar, Registrar, Admissions and Counseling.
The project was completed in 2007 with a total construction cost of $9,300,000 and a Mechanical-Electrical cost of $2,640,000.
