WPAFB BRAC Infrastructure

WPAFB_BRAC_Infrastructure_1Heapy Engineering designed the Mechanical-Electrical systems to relocate and extend electric, communications, gas and steam for the 60-acre construction site for the new HPW buildings.

The Electrical scope of work included a primary distribution system consisting of concrete encased duct banks and manhole system with primary electric circuits extended from two utility distribution sub stations with interconnecting, double ended, exterior mounted medium voltage switchgear. Also, overhead primary electrical services conflicting with future work were removed and rerouted below grade and integrated with new primary distribution system. Extensive site investigation work including existing manholes was required to document existing conditions to support the design effort. The primary service upgrades were designed to support significant future building construction projects.

The total construction cost was $17,000,000.
